We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Emergency Room (ED) Registered Nurse for a contract assignment in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, providing expert care to patients across the full spectrum of emergency services—from urgent care and trauma to pediatrics and behavioral health.
Travel nurses must be willing and able to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN and manage 1:5 patient ratios.
Department Overview
The Emergency Department is a dynamic, high-energy unit that treats patients with a wide variety of medical conditions and acuity levels.
Patient Population: Urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma/critical care patients
Common Skills Performed:
Medication titrations
Arterial line management
Chest tube care
Massive blood transfusions
Responsibilities Include: Coordinating and delivering care to patients with complex needs, ensuring safety, quality, and a positive patient experience in every encounter.
System: Cerner EMR
Qualifications
Required Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Licensure:
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, DC
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room experience
Cerner experience required
Education:
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required
BSN – Highly desired
Contract Details
Location: Washington, DC
Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts
Contract Length: 6 months accepted
Pay Rate:$58/hour
