Non-CDL Driver & Stock Associate

The Non-CDL Driver & Stock Associate is responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous delivery of building materials to customers while also supporting store, warehouse, and inventory operations. This role is critical to ensuring timely job site support, accurate order fulfillment, stocked shelves, and a clean, organized work environment. The position assists with loading, securing, delivering, unloading, receiving, stocking, and staging materials while following all company safety procedures and applicable DOT regulations for non-CDL vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately
• Ensure all loads are properly secured using company-approved methods, including straps, tarps, and other required equipment
• Operate company vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations for non-CDL vehicles, state laws, and SBSI safety standards
• Use proper lifting techniques and required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near-misses promptly
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle to reduce hazards and support a professional appearance
• Delivery & Customer Service
• Deliver building materials to customer locations and job sites safely and efficiently
• Verify delivery orders, quantities, and materials before departure and upon delivery
• Ensure materials are delivered to the correct location and in good condition
• Obtain customer signatures and maintain required delivery documentation
• Greet customers and job site contacts with professionalism and a customer-first attitude
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with customers, site supervisors, dispatchers, and team members
• Proactively communicate delivery updates, delays, or concerns as needed
• Stocking, Warehouse & Operational Support
• Receive incoming inventory and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage
• Stock shelves, displays, warehouse racks, and storage areas with appropriate materials
• Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery
• Assist with loading and unloading materials manually or with forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Support inventory counts, cycle counts, and general inventory organization
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the warehouse, yard, sales floor, and stocking areas
• Operate delivery vehicles under 26,001 lbs. GVWR, including one-ton flatbeds, stake beds, and pickup trucks
• Maintain delivery logs, fuel receipts, signed tickets, and other required documentation per company standards
• Support warehouse, yard, and store operations when not on delivery routes

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
• CDL not required; role operates company vehicles under 26,001 lbs. GVWR
• Must meet company driving standards and be insurable under company policy
• Must be at least 21 years old to meet insurance and driving requirements
• At least 1 year of relevant driving, delivery, warehouse, stocking, or material handling experience preferred
• Familiarity with common building materials and safe handling practices preferred
• Forklift experience or certification preferred
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills
