Job Description:
The HR Executive will manage the day-to-day human resources functions for the steel fabrication facility, bridging the gap between management and employees. The role focuses on high-volume recruitment of skilled/unskilled labor, statutory labor law compliance (Factories Act), attendance/payroll, and maintaining a safe, productive, and positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- Bulk Hiring: Source, screen, and interview candidates for skilled roles (Welders, Fabricators, Machine Operators, Fitters) and unskilled helpers.
- Onboarding: Manage joining formalities, documentation, orientation, and safety inductions for new hires.
- Contractual Staffing: Liaise with labor contractors for project-based staffing and ensure compliance with contractor regulations.
2. Statutory Compliance & Industrial Relations
- Factories Act Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the Factories Act, BOCW Act, and other state-specific labor laws.
- Labour Laws: Manage PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, and other mandatory benefits.
- Record Management: Maintain updated employee files, attendance registers, leave records, and compliance records for audit readiness.
- Shopfloor Relations: Manage grievance handling, resolve worker disputes, and maintain industrial harmony.
3. Payroll and Attendance Administration
- Time Office Management: Monitor daily shopfloor attendance, timekeeping, shift scheduling, and overtime records.
- Payroll Processing: Prepare monthly salary inputs, including attendance data, overtime, and deductions.
4. Employee Engagement & Training
- Safety Training: Coordinate with the safety department to organize regular safety trainings for shopfloor workers.
- Culture & Engagement: Plan and implement employee engagement initiatives to reduce labor turnover.
- Performance: Assist in the annual performance appraisal process and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in HR, Personnel Management, or MSW (Master of Social Work).
- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in a steel plant, heavy engineering, or manufacturing setup.
- Compliance Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Factories Act, 1948, contractor labor laws, and Wage Acts.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and HRMS tools (e.g., Keka).
- Personality: Strong conflict resolution skills, proactive approach, and comfortable working on the shop floor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of local labor laws (e.g., Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh).
- Experience in high-volume, blue-collar recruitmen
