Job Description

As an Audio Director at Ubisoft Montreal, you will define, guide, and uphold the audio vision for a game project. You will ensure the quality, consistency, and integration of sound as an essential component of the gaming experience, aligning with the overall creative vision.

What You Will Do

  • Define and document the audio vision and style guide based on the project’s creative direction and references.
  • Clearly communicate the audio vision to the team using visual, written, and audio references.
  • Lead the audio strategy within Unreal Engine, collaborating with teams to support the project’s creative and technical objectives.
  • Identify technical audio needs and collaborate with technical architects and engineering teams.
  • Define the musical direction and contribute to composer selection with creative leadership and audio studios.
  • Work closely with programmers and technical directors to design and integrate audio systems.
  • Plan audio resources and budgets in collaboration with production teams.
  • Establish and optimize best practices for audio production.
  • Supervise, review, and mentor the audio team to ensure quality standards and professional development.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • Proven ability to define and communicate an audio vision for interactive projects.
  • Strong leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Solid understanding of digital audio workstations and audio production pipelines in a creative context.
  • Excellent knowledge of music composition, sound design, and interactive audio.
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine in a game production context.
  • Experience managing audio integration within game engines.
  • Good knowledge of studio recording practices and professional audio equipment.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies.
