Role Overview:

The Assistant Manager – Business HR will act as a key HR partner for the plant/operations team, ensuring smooth execution of core HR functions including talent acquisition, employee engagement, payroll coordination, and L&D initiatives. The role requires a hands-on HR professional with prior experience in the manufacturing industry, capable of managing workforce dynamics in a plant environment.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Talent Acquisition (TA) Coordination

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment coordination for plant roles (blue-collar & white-collar)
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements
  • Coordinate with consultants/vendors for sourcing candidates
  • Schedule interviews, track candidate status, and ensure timely closures
  • Maintain recruitment trackers, reports, and dashboards

2. Learning & Development (L&D)

  • Identify training needs in collaboration with business/plant managers
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs
  • Ensure execution of induction and onboarding training for new hires
  • Track training effectiveness and maintain training records
  • Support skill development initiatives for shop-floor employees

3. Attendance & Payroll Coordination

  • Monitor employee attendance, leave records, and shift schedules
  • Coordinate with payroll team/vendors for accurate salary processing
  • Validate attendance inputs, overtime, and statutory deductions
  • Address employee queries related to salary, attendance, and leave
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory norms

4. Employee Engagement & Relations

  • Plan and execute employee engagement activities at plant level
  • Drive initiatives for employee motivation, retention, and morale
  • Act as a point of contact for employee grievances and concerns
  • Support disciplinary processes in line with company policies
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work culture

5. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain employee records and documentation
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures
  • Support audits and statutory compliance (especially relevant in manufacturing setups)
  • Assist in performance management cycles and HR reporting

Key Requirements: Educational Qualification:

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources (Mandatory)

Experience:

  • 4–5 years of HR experience
  • Must have hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry (mandatory)
  • Exposure to plant HR operations is highly preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Good understanding of HR operations and labor practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and HR systems
