Lead Fullstack Javascript Developer (m/f/d)

At Verisk Med, we’re building smart, data-driven platforms that transform insurance and healthcare processes. We’re looking for a Full Stack JavaScript Developer (Lead) – Backend Focus to take ownership, drive innovation, and guide our team to the next level.

As a Lead Developer, you’ll take charge of backend development, mentor your teammates, and collaborate across functions. You’ll design scalable systems, work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, and make sure our platforms are fast, secure, and built to last.

What You’ll Do

• Lead backend development with Node.js, NestJS, GraphQL
• Design & optimize databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Build scalable systems & event-driven microservices
• Integrate RabbitMQ and orchestrate workflows with n8n
• Deploy & manage AWS infrastructure (Lambda, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, S3, etc.)
• Work with Docker & Kubernetes (Helm knowledge = plus)
• Support frontend with React, Next.js, TypeScript
• Code reviews, Gitflow, CI/CD with GitLab
• Ensure security & monitoring (e.g., Snyk, Dynatrace, PagerDuty)
• Write clean, maintainable, DDD-compliant code

What You Bring

• Solid experience as a Full Stack / Backend JavaScript Developer
• Strong skills in Node.js, NestJS, GraphQL, TypeScript
• Database expertise: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL
• Hands-on with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
• Bonus points: Event-Driven Architecture, Redis, Snyk
• Great communication & leadership skills
• Fluent in English (German = big plus)
• Already based in Germany & ready to relocate to Cologne after probation
